These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your use of the Lux Crucis mobile application and related services (the “App”), published by Aurea Via Ltd (“Aurea Via”, “we”, “us” or “our”). Please read them carefully. By downloading, accessing or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Eligibility
You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country of residence, and able to agree to these Terms, in order to use the App. If you use the App on behalf of another person, you confirm you are authorised to accept these Terms for them.
2. Nature of the App
Lux Crucis is an educational and contemplative application for the study of Christian Cabala, the Tree of Life, sacred letters, gematria and isopsephy. It presents historic mystical and symbolic material as structured learning and reflection.
Lux Crucis does not provide fortune-telling, divination, predictions or supernatural claims, and it is not a substitute for professional, medical, psychological, legal, financial or pastoral advice. Content within the App, including AI-generated reflections, is offered for personal study, journaling and contemplation only, and should not be relied upon as authoritative guidance or as a basis for important decisions.
3. Licence to use the App
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to download and use the App on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by law.
4. Subscriptions, purchases & billing
Lux Crucis offers free features and optional Premium features available through in-app purchases or subscriptions. All payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their terms; we do not process card payments directly.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage, upgrade or cancel a subscription at any time in your Apple or Google account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Prices and offerings may change. Where required, we will give notice of changes that affect you.
- Refunds are handled by the relevant app store in accordance with its policies and your applicable statutory rights as a consumer.
5. AI-generated content
Certain features generate reflections using artificial intelligence. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete or unexpected, and is produced automatically without human review. It is provided for learning, journaling and contemplation only, and does not represent the views, teaching authority or endorsement of Aurea Via. You are responsible for how you use AI-generated content, and you should not rely on it for important decisions.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
- interfere with, disrupt or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the App or its systems;
- copy, resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the App or its content; or
- use the App in any way that could harm, disable or impair it, or other users.
7. Your content
You retain ownership of notes, reflections and other content you create in the App. You grant us a limited licence to store and process that content solely to operate the features you use. You are responsible for the content you submit and for keeping your own copies of anything important to you.
8. Intellectual property
The App, including its lessons, text, design, graphics, the Lux Crucis name and logo, and all related intellectual property, is owned by Aurea Via Ltd or its licensors and is protected by law. Except for the licence granted above, no rights are transferred to you.
9. Third-party services
The App relies on third-party services, including the Apple App Store, Google Play, analytics providers and an AI provider. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
10. Disclaimers
The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free or that content (including AI output) will be accurate or complete. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Aurea Via will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the App. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Aurea Via and its officers, employees and partners from any claims, losses or expenses arising out of your misuse of the App or your breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
13. Termination & changes
We may suspend or terminate access to the App if you breach these Terms or where reasonably necessary. You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it. We may modify the App or these Terms; when we change the Terms we will update the “Last updated” date, and your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, except where mandatory law in your country of residence provides otherwise. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
15. Additional terms for the Apple App Store
The following applies if you obtain the App from the Apple App Store:
- These Terms are between you and Aurea Via only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App; that responsibility is ours.
- In the event the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
- Aurea Via, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product-liability, legal-compliance and consumer-protection claims, and any third-party claim that the App infringes intellectual property rights.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as “terrorist supporting”, and that you are not on any U.S. Government restricted-party list.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
